Frequently Asked Questions
What is the mission of the Bristol Santa House?
The Bristol Santa House was created especially for children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
We provide a calm, immersive North Pole experience for families who often cannot attend traditional holiday events.
All visits are free, and the Santa House is operated entirely by volunteers.
Who runs the Santa House?
The Bristol Santa House is a program of the James D. Rielly Foundation and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
Our mission is kindness, inclusion, and creating joy for families of all abilities.
Who can schedule a private appointment?
Private appointments are reserved only for individuals with diagnosed intellectual or physical disabilities.
These appointments offer time, space, and flexibility for families who need a quiet, personalized visit.
We cannot offer private appointments for reasons such as avoiding long lines, having a newborn, or general convenience.
How do I schedule a visit?
Families of children or adults with diagnosed disabilities may schedule a private appointment through the link on our website.
When slots are full, you can email us your contact information, and we will add you to the waitlist.
Where can I see the schedule?
Our full schedule—including public days and available appointment times—is always posted at: bristolsantahouse.org/schedule
How do I join the waitlist?
If private appointments are full, simply email us your name and contact information. We will notify you if a spot becomes available.
Are there public visiting days?
Yes! The Santa House is open to the public on select days. These are walk-in visits with no appointments required. Everyone is welcome.
See our schedule for dates.
Why does the line close before the posted end time?
On busy public days, the line may close before the posted end time to safely accommodate all guests already waiting.
Line closure depends on crowd size, wait time, weather, staffing, and other operating conditions.
We encourage visitors to arrive early.
Is there a charge to see Santa?
Never! All visits, public and private, are completely free!
The Bristol Santa House is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) program of the James D. Rielly Foundation. No one earns money from Santa visits, and we do not sell photo packages or products.
Besides, the real Santa Claus would never ask you for money…
Is this a photography studio?
No. The Bristol Santa House is not a photography studio or a “pictures with Santa” setup.
The Bristol Santa House is an immersive holiday experience, not a commercial photography venue. Families are welcome to take their own photos, but our focus is on creating a magical visit—not posing or selling images.
There is never a charge to visit.
Do you allow pets inside the Santa House?
Only registered service animals are permitted inside. Emotional support animals and pets are not allowed due to the sensitivities and medical needs of our guests.
Can I schedule a personal visit with Santa Claus?
We have a direct line to the big man himself! Please contact us for details.
